Start getting in development for the Flying V, because Coach Bombay is back!
The Mighty Ducks star Emilio Estevez is formally returning as Coach Gordon Bombay for the new Disney original series that will continue the story of the hit movie trilogy.
” As Soon As a Duck, always a Duck!,” stated Estevez in a declaration. “And after 25 years, I am thrilled to lace up my skates, placed on Coach Bombay’s coat and return to play the iconic character for this new chapter in The Mighty Ducks franchise. Similarly, I am enjoyed return to my old stomping premises with my friends at Disney and Steve Brill, the initial creator of the franchise, to join them on their interesting new platform, Disney .”
The initial Mighty Ducks was launched in 1992 and starred Estevez as Bombay, a conceited lawyer whose social work for a DUI is to coach a youth hockey team. The star also appeared in the 2 subsequent sequels.
Here’s the main description for the series: “In present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12- year-old Evan (Midday) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mother Alex (Graham) set out to develop their own ragtag group of misfits to challenge the aggressive, win-at-all-costs culture of competitive youth sports. “
